Rick Joe Wooters died March 16, 2014 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 50 years 2 months 10 days. Funeral Service are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel under the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Rick was born January 6, 1964 in Monmouth, Illinois to Donald Lee and Joan Louise (Jones) Collins. He was raised in Monmouth, Illinois graduating around 1982. Rick was inducted into the United States Navy in February 1983, proudly serving for 4 years. He was honorably discharged in April 1987. Rick was a CLEET certified correctional officer, working in Florida before moving to Oklahoma. He worked for the State of Oklahoma as a Sargent for the prison system. In November 1999, Rick married Beverly Lee in Purcell, Oklahoma. They made Lexington their home. Rick worked for the City of Purcell as a grounds keeper at Hillside Cemetery. He loved reading and spending time with his grandkids. Rick also enjoyed watching WWE wrestling.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joan Collins; and sister Pam.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of the home; son, Vernon Walker and wife, Chrissy of Lexington, Becky Walker of Wayne; 4 grandchildren, Jesse and wife, Carli, Kelsey and husband, Matt, Becca and husband, Justin, Jonna and husband, Perry; 10 great grandchildren, Ryder, Ian, Hayden, Raleigh, Jasper, Branton, Piper, Rozlyn, Avalyn, Jordan; siblings, Eddie Wooters of Illinois, Tony Wooters of Indiana, David Wooters of Arkansas, Alan Wooters of Eastern Oklahoma, Donna Robinson of Lexington and many other relatives and friends.
