Gayle Sutton Woodson, 74, of Silsbee, died Friday, August 5, 2016. She was born on August 28, 1941, in Arnett, Oklahoma, to Elizabeth Cooprider Sutton and James Sutton.
Mrs. Woodson had worked in sales and marketing for South Hampton.
Mrs. Woodson graduated in 1959 from Wakita High School, Wakita, Oklahoma, the home of the movie "Twister," and those who knew her, know how appropriate that was. She was a Certified Professional Secretary and was an avid Silsbee sports fan. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Gary Woodson; children, Michele Kesler and her husband, Phillip, of Powdersville, South Carolina, and Michael James Woodson and his wife, Misti, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Sarah Kesler, James Kesler, Michael Kesler, Aaron Chambless, Tanner Humble, and Abigayle Woodson; and siblings, Joy Gideon and her husband, Steve, and Wanda Harmon and her husband, Tom, all of Anthony, Kansas, and Susie Bonham of Fairview, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Trevor James Woodson.
A gathering of Mrs. Woodson's family and friends will begin at 2 p.m., with her memorial service at 4 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her committal was held at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Woodson's memory to St. Jude Children's Research, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
