The services celebrating the life of Shawnina Mareena Skye Wood, 26, of Enid will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 7, 2016 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with the Garfield County Sheriff's Department Chaplain D.E."Butch" Phillips officiating, cremation will follow the services. Services and complete care cremation are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Shawnina was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico November 7, 1989 to Laura (Barnett) Roberts and Cedric Wood and passed from this life June 2, 2016 in Enid.
She was raised and educated in Enid. She was the 6th generation of her family to attend Adams Elementary school. She was recognized as a natural leader and a very gifted student from an early age, completing High School at the age of 16. She then attended Northern Oklahoma college.
Even after she was diagnosed with schizophrenia she never gave up on pursuing her dreams.
She loved Glamor and fashion always making sure she looked just right and wore her heels. She was a very talented artist. She had an infectious laugh and was always looking to help others. She also enjoyed cheerleading, riding her bike, playing basketball and was an avid sports enthusiast.
She is survived by her Mother and father and his wife Geraldine "Geri" Wood, Her Dad Phillip Evans; Sisters Samantha Evans and Ava Rose Miskinis, Brother, Phillip "Tanner" Evans; Grandparents Bret and Dee Goebel, Donald Wood and "Papa" Jack Barnett, Rick and Karen Evans and Gloria Emerson; Numerous loving Aunts and Uncles; two Nieces Marlee and Lola; Nephew Edrian and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her Grandmothers Lola Walters and Alana Wabnum and great Grandparents Laura and Donald "Buck" Dodson.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Oklahoma chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
