Lisa Gail Wood entered this life on May 31, 1962 in Dallas, Texas, born to Sherman Wood and Doris Wertz. Lisa went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 26, 2016 in Durant, OK at the age of 53 years, 11 months and 26 days.
Lisa graduated high school from H. Grady Spruce in Dallas. She moved to Durant over 20 years ago from Dallas. Lisa worked as a housekeeper in many homes and hotels. She enjoyed watching television. Lisa loved all the neighborhood cats and enjoyed tending to them. She was a very kind and sweet person that was strong-willed, joyful and generous. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents, James V. White and Mearl Lindsey.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Sherman Wood and Doris Wertz; daughter, Sabrina Sarver and husband Steven; sisters, Barbara Boring, Gloria Baker, and Donna Pleake; brother, Sherman "Ray" Wood; and 11 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Church of the Nazarene in Durant, with Pastor Brent Smith officiating.
