Jerold Wood passed away Monday, March 12, 2018. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14th. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Loafman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Jerold Don Wood was born June 15, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ivan and Iona (McKay) Wood. He attended Nowata High School, graduating in 1954, and Oklahoma State University. He married Phyllis (Haynes) Pierce on June 26, 1984 in Waikiki Beach, HI. Jerold worked for 42 years as a research technician for Phillips Petroleum Co, retiring in 1997. He greatly enjoyed playing golf and watching sports on TV. He was an avid OU football and Texas Rangers baseball fan.
Jerold is survived by his wife Phyllis J. Wood of the home. Three sons: Don Wood and wife Joanne of Temple, TX, Steven Wood of Little River, TX, Mike Pierce of Bartlesville and two daughters; Julie and husband Gary Lanham of Little River, TX, Crystal and husband Daniel Martin of Bartlesville. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Jerold is also survived by his sister Kay Poston of Texas, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jerold was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Harold Wood and Bob Wood.
