Barbara Kenagy Wood, 81, former resident of Bartlesville, OK passed away Thursday September 21, 2017 at the United Methodist Healthcare Center at The Commons in Enid, OK.
Barbara was born November 22, 1935 in Independence, MO to the late H.L. and Grace (Burton) Kenagy. Barbara was raised in Kansas City, MO. Barbara attended DePauw University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in zoology in 1958. After graduation, she moved to Chicago for post graduate training and returned to Kansas City, MO in 1960 to work.
Barbara Anne Kenagy married Richard Wood on April 15, 1967 at the Central United Methodist Church in Kansas City, MO.
Barbara and Richard moved to Bartlesville in October of 1975 where they raised their three daughters. Barbara worked for Jane Phillips Medical Center in the laboratory until her retirement.
Barbara was an active member in the church and a volunteer at Mutual Tuesday House until she was no longer able to volunteer due to the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents H.L. and Grace Kenagy, and her two beloved older brothers John and Harry Kenagy.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Wood of Bartlesville and her daughters Nicole Soliday of Noble, OK and Michelle Smith of Kingfisher, OK; her daughter Anne Overton, her husband Les and their daughters Krystal Overton of Weatherford, TX and Erin Bollman of Wakita, OK; her daughter Margaret Morris, her husband Michael and their daughter Alexis of Bartlesville.
A celebration of life has been scheduled for Saturday October 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bartlesville First Church.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Alzheimer's AssociationTulsa Chapter 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite 3000 Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137.
