Betty Chen Wong, 62, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at The Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.
Betty was born to Shui Chen and An (Pang) Chen in Shanghai, China on December 1, 1950, the youngest of three children. She was raised in Hong Kong. She moved to the United States in 1967 and graduated high school in Mississippi. She moved to Norman in 1969 when she began her studies at The University of Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1974.
Betty married Paul Wong in 1974 in Norman. They co-owned The House of Dragon restaurant in Norman and later moved to Ardmore, OK in 1980 where they opened another restaurant, The Great Wall. In 1997, they moved back to Norman. Betty worked at Ken's Pharmacy (now Walgreens) in Norman until late in life.
Betty was a loving wife and proud mother and grandmother. Although, she was dedicated to her work, She always made family her top priority. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her positive outlook on life and her caring personality.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ben and Tony.
She is survived by her husband, Paul of Norman, OK; son and wife, Dr. David and Jennifer Wong of Tulsa, OK; son and wife, Drs. Stephen and Jessica Wong of Springfield, MO; and three grandchildren, Madelyn, Landon and Laila.
