Margaret H. (Bradley) Wofford

June 29, 1912 ~ March 14, 2002

Shamrock - Margaret H. Wofford, 89, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church of Shamrock with the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Wofford was born June 29, 1912, in Van Buren, Ark., to Lawrence Troy and Carrie Margaret Bradley. She married Raymond F. Wofford on April 14, 1935. They moved to Shamrock soon after where they engaged in farming for several years, living in the Twitty and Bethel Communities.

She resided in Claude and Tulia prior to moving to Amarillo in 2000. She had a real heart for children, especially the abused and underprivileged. She was active in the children's programs in the church and was a lifetime prayer warrior.

At the time of her death, she was a member of Eleventh Street Baptist Church in Shamrock. She was a loving mother and grandmother, but her greatest love was for her savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966; and a son, Eddie Ray Wofford in 1967.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Strategier and husband, Jim, of Norman, Okla., and Elizabeth Lee Pepper and husband, J. Dean, of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Jan Brown, Jon Hughes, Amy Bronson, Jeff Hughes, DeAn Smith, Kevin Pepper and Shelby Strategier; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Miller of Yuma, Ariz.

The family suggests memorials be to Eleventh Street Baptist Church in Shamrock; or South Georgia Baptist Church Building Fund in Amarillo.

The family will be at 312 S. Austin St. in Shamrock.
