Russel “Scott” Witt, 76, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 in Oklahoma City.
He was born November 14, 1946 to Tris and Jean (Carr) Witt in Clovis, New Mexico.
Scott was raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma and graduated with the class of 1964 from Anadarko High School. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Cameron. He resided in Norman for many years and has been a Shawnee resident for the past 28 years.
He married Jonnie Edwards on September 3, 1966 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Scott proudly served his country for two years in the Army National Guard.
He owned and operated TV and electronics stores in Holdenville and Norman. He later worked for Curtis Mathes as a sales representative and manager until his retirement.
Scott enjoyed cooking, watching the weather, OU Football and tailgating, Green Bay Packers, and most of all, being with his family. He was a very kind person with a good heart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tris Witt; stepfather, Robert Goodfellow; brother, Robert Goodfellow, Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Webb:
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jonnie Witt of the home; daughter, Tiffany and son-in-law, Lee Stephens of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Brandon Witt of Jenks, OK; grandchildren, Jaxon Witt, Lanie Witt, Beau Stephens and Walker Witt; his mother, Jean Carr of Sulphur, OK; sister, Ann and brother-in-law, Bill Casey of Sulphur, OK; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sheila and Donnie Maynard of Shawnee, OK; brother-in-law, Leon Webb of Sulphur, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 39307 W. MacArthur, Shawnee, OK with Reverend Matthew Tassey officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
