Joe Dan Wisely

Joe Dan Wisely
October 22, 1932 ~ March 17, 2025

Joe Dan Wisely, 92, passed from this life on March 17, 2025, in Mead, Oklahoma. He was brought into this world on October 22, 1932, in Yarnaby, Oklahoma, by Willy L. Wisely and Myrtle May (Gibson) Wisely.

Dan attended and graduated from Achille High School and worked as a water plant manager in Achille, Oklahoma, and raised cows as well. He married the love of his life, Patricia Lou (Stewart) on August 21, 1981, in LaPorte, TX. Dan was a veteran who served in the National Guard, and he enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, and listening to music. Dan will be deeply missed by his family and the people who were lucky enough to call him their friend.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents; Willy and Myrtle Wisely; brothers; Wiley Wisely and Ray Wisely; sisters; Francis Henry, Elva Slagle, and Armelda Langham; son; James Brett Wisely; daughters; Sharon Ray Wisely and Debbie Stewart.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Patricia Wisely; daughters; Danna Oneill and spouse Jim of Ralston, NE, Jackie Brookins and spouse Clayton of Swaledale, IA, Tammy Willingham and spouse Les of Woodward, OK, Diana Weiss Garner and spouse Ken of Little Elm, TX, 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends.

You may not always see it, but your presence in this world has left ripples far beyond what you know. Someone still smiles at a memory you created together, still feels comforted by the kindness you once showed, and still finds courage in the words you spoke.
Someone hums a song that reminds them of you, sees beauty in the world because you pointed it out, and carries your wisdom in their heart. Someone stands a little taller because you believed in them, walks a little lighter because you were there, and dreams bigger because you told them they could. “You matter more than you realize.”

The family has selected cremation services.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
