Lonnie James Winkler, Sr.

May 10, 1945 ~ March 18, 2017

Lonnie James Winkler Sr., 71, formerly of Westville, OK passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Cherokee Nation W. W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Lonnie was born May 10, 1945 in Peavine, Oklahoma; he was the son of Marion & Velma Winkler.

Lonnie married Virginia on October 1, 1971 in Rogers, AR. He enjoyed taking care of horses, had a lot of interest in stock cars, he made a lot of memories at Crawford County Speedway, and was a very loving family man. Lonnie was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Siloam Springs, AR.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia of the home; his sons, William Dale Winkler of Joplin, Missouri, Arthur Lulen Winkler of Watts, Oklahoma, Lonnie James Winkler II of Goodman, Missouri, and Jackie Lee Winkler of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; his daughters, Mary Ann Howe of Joplin, Missouri and Jennifer Mae Freeman of Gentry, Arkansas; his brothers Larry Dale Winkler of Webbers Fall, Oklahoma and Marion Lousid Winkler of Westville, Oklahoma; his sisters Elsie Shanks of Summit, Oklahoma and Carolyn Mae Rogers of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; seven granddaughters and twelve grandsons.  Lonnie is also survived by many friends and loved ones.

A visitation will be held at Backstrom- Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel in Siloam Springs, AR on Tuesday March 21, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral service for Lonnie will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:00am at the First Assembly of God in Siloam Springs, AR.

Graveside service will be held at  2:00 pm at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Ar.

Services are under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.
