Honoring the request of the deceased, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Cremation will take place at King and Shearwood Funeral Home in Stigler.
Born March 18, 1935 in Brooken, the son of Hubert and Christine Wilson, he died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in his home while under hospice care.
Wayne graduated from Marietta High School in 1954. He was a United States Army and Air Force Veteran and proudly devoted over 20 years of service to the United States Military. Among his interests were reading, collecting memorabilia and genealogical research. Wayne contributed several articles to the local newspaper and wrote a short book about the Wilson family.
He was well-known for his offbeat sense of humor and delight at making conversation with others. He will be dearly missed and his spirit will always remain with us.
He is survived by his wife, Sun Ae Wilson; two sons, John Wilson of Stigler and Glen Wilson of Ada; two daughters, Christy Wilson of Severn, Maryland and Penney Davis and husband Jared Davis of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four brothers, Sharon Wilson of Ardmore, Harvey Wilson of Durant, Mark Wilson of Coppell, Texas and David Wilson of Stigler; and five grandchildren, Christian Wilson-Castro of Severn, Wayne and Hailey Wilson and Maranda and Makenna Davis, all of Fort Smith.
This obituary included a picture of Mr. Wilson.
