Stella "Sue" (Hill) Wilson

Stella "Sue" (Hill) Wilson
August 5, 1934 ~ Oct. 25, 2020

On August 5, 1934, a feisty baby girl was born to Marvin and Hazel Hill in the Altus, Okla., community. Stella “Sue” learned the values of faith, family, friendship and hard work that she carried throughout her life. As the middle child and only girl of three, she learned cooking skills from her mother. Food and serving others became her love language.

Sue was a brilliant academic in the Humphrey’s community schools where she met a tall and handsome Billy Earl Wilson at a school basketball game. They began a romance that lasted over 70 years. They married on Jan. 26, 1952, and became parents to four children, grandparents to 10, and great-grandparents to 9.

Sue’s engaging personality, beauty and wit served her well as she became the perfect companion to compliment Bill’s longtime career as an executive. She would be a shining star at dinners and in 1980 she was presented an Olympic medal from a visiting Russian group.

Bill and Sue were extremely compassionate and aided others during sickness and grief. Sue used her talents to befriend many in her lifetime. She took special interest in the less fortunate and delighted in bringing joy to their lives with love, attention and baked goodies.

Her determined battle with Lupus came to an end on Oct. 25, 2020, and she is now in the presence of her loving Savior, her firstborn Ricky Earl, her first granddaughter, Kallie Beth McLish, her parents and her brother Joe W. Hill. Sue is survived by her faithful husband Bill (Edmond, Okla.); brother, Royce Hill (Harker Heights, Texas); daughter Annese McLish, son Bill, daughter Melinda all of Edmond, Okla. and all her beloved grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the many wonderful people that served Nana Sue in her final days.

Public visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 27th at Matthews Funeral Home. There will be a private immediate family service live-streamed from Matthew’s Funeral Home Wednesday, Oct 28th at 2:00 p.m
