Raymond Cleveland Wilson

August 26, 1924 ~ July 25, 2021

Raymond Cleveland Wilson, son of the late Grover Cleveland and Vernie (Faucet) Wilson, was born August 26, 1924, in Hazelton, Kansas, and passed away July 25, 2021, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, at the age of 96 years, 10 months, and 29 days. He was cremated at his request under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary LLC. A memorial service is planned at a later date.

Raymond attended several schools. He lived in many places while he worked in the oil field for 20 years. On September 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Clara Marie Cole in Udall, Kansas. In 1966 they moved to Cherokee where was a heavy equipment operator for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. After his retirement in 1986, he worked on lawn mowers and small engines for many years.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Molly Wilson, Olga Wilson, Lola Wilson, Fransis Wilson, Marvin Wilson, Harold Wilson, and Gerald Wilson.

Raymond is survived by his companion, Betty Mitchell; two sons, Raymond Cleveland Wilson Jr. and wife Deborah of Jet, and David Teeter of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one grandson, Zack Teeter; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Circle of Love Hospice in Enid.
