Richard Alvin Wilson, 77, of Norman passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Norman. He was born December 31, 1936 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Roy and Leila (Hess) Wilson.
Richard attended schools in the Okmulgee and Morris, Oklahoma area. He earned his BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa in 1958 and went on to work in the oil and gas industry. Richard worked several years with O.G.&E. retiring in 2007. He married Patricia Carrell August 24, 1957 in Morris, Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Micheal Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Wilson; three daughters, Sandra Keith of Noble, Karen Schmidt and husband Troy, and Beth Korhonen and husband Mark of Norman; five grandchildren, Gwenn Stevens, Aaron Keith, Matthew Keith, Kayley Schmidt, and Mackenzie Schmidt; and ten great grandchildren, Laura, Claire, Jonas, and Sophia Stevens, Trinity, Mya, Alynn, and Aaron Keith, and Hudson and Haylee Keith.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m., Monday May 19, 2014 officiated by Reverend Bruce Ingram at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman.
