Linda Marie (Ellison) Wilson

Linda Marie (Ellison) Wilson
October 3, 1948 ~ May 29, 2024

Linda Marie (Ellison) Wilson, 75, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away and went to her heavenly home on May 29, 2024. Born on October 3, 1948, in Prague, she was the daughter of the late Berry and Lola Ellison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin. They were married for 56 years. Linda was also preceded in death by her brothers Donald, Ray, and Gene Ellison, sister Betty Moses, and grandson, Tyler “TJ” Wilson.

Linda is survived by her sons, Kevin Wilson of Tecumseh, and Ryan Wilson and wife, Kelli of Shawnee. She is also survived by her grandsons Curtis, Chance, and Chase Wilson, as well as her granddaughter, Chandler Moore and husband, Carter. Other surviving family includes brother, Wayne Ellison of League City, Texas, and sisters Maxine Dukes of Prague, Barbara Hollan of Shawnee, Connie Wiatrek and husband Archie of San Antonio, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Linda was primarily a homemaker. Earlier in life, she was a hairdresser. She also worked as a USDA grain inspector at Shawnee Milling Company for several years. Linda often served as a substitute teacher at Dale Public Schools.

Linda enjoyed collecting antiques with her husband, Franklin. They frequented flea markets and together owned Remember When antique store in Shawnee. She loved to cook, bake, craft, and sew…passing her talents along to her sons, grandkids, and nieces. Linda spent many years as a Sunday school teacher and was an amazing gospel singer. “Aunt Linda” / Grandma spent endless hours sharing Bible stories and scriptures. Linda was also a published poet, having written hundreds of poems.

The family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff at Loving Care Home Health and Hospice. Gail, Jalinda, Rebecka, Arleen, and Thom - thank you so much. The continual love and compassion expressed to Linda, Wayne, and the family is cherished. Finally, we want to thank Kae McGinnis for her special love and caregiving for both Linda and Franklin. Kae, no doubt, was a gift from the Father above. Heidi was also a wonderful God send and loving caregiver through very difficult times. We love you both dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Home Church Tecumseh, 2401 E. Walnut Street (HWY 9) Tecumseh, OK 74873. (homechurchtecumseh.com)

In lieu of flowers, please give to a ministry in your local church. Linda would appreciate your giving. Linda will be deeply missed; her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.
