John "Johnny" Wilson

John "Johnny" Wilson
March 8, 1939 ~ May 29, 2019

Called Johnny by friends and family members, he was born on March 8, 1939 in Oklahoma City, to John and Julia Wilson. At the age of 15, Johnny moved with his family to the Lexington area.

At 17, years he joined the U.S. Navy and was trained to operate airborne radar equipment on Navy WV 2 aircraft, flying from airbases in Barbers Point, Hawaii, Midway Island, Adak, Kodiak Alaska and Oceana Navel Air station at Virginia Beach, VA.

After serving 8 years in the Navy, Wilson became a TV weatherman on channel 6 in Richmond, VA. He later spent 25 years with the Federal Aviation Agency as an Air Traffic Controller at Washington D.C. Radar Center and Oklahoma City and also an Air Traffic Instructor at the training center at Will Rogers Airport.

After retiring, John returned to the Lexington area and luckily became reacquainted with his high school sweetheart, Patsy Holloway Vaugh, and they were married on Valentine s Day of 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Pat of the home;

One son, Tim Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK;

One daughter, Kathy Hotz and husband, Bruce of Lookeba, OK;

One step-daughter, Vikki Milburn and husband, Lonnie of Slaughterville, ok

One step-son, Todd Vaughn of Noble, OK,

And several grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel, Purcell, OK. You may send online condolences to the family @wilsonlittle.com
