Herman Ray Wilson, of Lexington, passed away on April 13, 2017 at the age of 75.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial & Flag Ceremony which will be held at 12:30 P.M. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church at 211 N. Second Ave., Purcell, OK 73080, in the fellowship hall. Desserts and coffee will be provided.
He was born in Oklahoma City, October 16, 1941. He first lived in Stratford OK, later moving to Lexington, OK in the second grade, graduating in 1959.
Herman joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard and served 25 years.
He was editor and publisher of the Lexington Sun, Noble News, Purcell News, and Stratford Star weekly newspapers. He later worked at Norick Brothers Printing and Reynolds and Reynolds Printing, as a printer. He retired from the Purcell Register as a printer. Herman was active in the Oklahoma Mustang Club and Canadian River Cruisers car clubs. He enjoyed working on and driving classic cars with his wife June.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman O. Wilson and Nina May Wilson (Ramsey) of Lexington, OK.
Herman is survived by wife, June Wilson (Dryhurst), brothers Dee Wilson and wife Teresa of Norman, OK, Edward Lee Wilson and wife Elaine of Alamogordo, NM, children Deedra Nagy of Norman, OK, Leon Wilson and wife Bernita of Purcell, OK, and Julie Murphy and husband Rusty of Macomb, OK, 7 grandchildren, one great-grand child and numerous nieces and nephews located around the country..
