Captain (Ret.) A. Kay Wilson, 91, Pilot, United States Air Force, World War II Veteran, businessman, Mason and Shriner passed away July 14th, 2013 with family surrounding him, taking his final flight home to be with the Lord.
A. Kay Wilson was born May 30th, 1922 in Hooker, OK to Wallace and Ruth (Strain) Wilson. He proudly served his country with honor, flying the DC-3 “Gooneybird” during the invasion of Southern France.
A. Kay was in the insurance business for over forty years. He built and merged insurance companies and owned an agency in the Oklahoma panhandle. In his free time he enjoyed flying his V-tail Bonanza, playing bridge, watching his Sooners play football, and he loved cars. He loved one woman his entire life. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather and he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A. Kay Wilson is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kaylen Melton of Denver, CO, who were waiting for him with open arms.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lenora May Street of the home; daughter Dana Pascucci and husband Perry of Tulsa; grandson Dr. Daniel Pascucci of Tulsa; granddaughter Kaitlin (Pascucci) Brister and husband Austin and great grandson Ian Tyler Brister of Norman; son-in-law Ben Melton of Denver; grandson Rev. James Kay Melton and wife Rev. Heather Melton of New York; Granddaughter Alicia (Melton) Berry and husband Tony Berry and great grandson Kaysen Berry of Denver.
Services for A. Kay Wilson will be held on Thursday July 18th, 2013 at 2:00 pm at First Christian Church, 220 S. Webster Ave. Norman, OK.
Arrangements for A. Kay Wilson and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 17th, 2013 at Havenbrook Funeral Home from 5-7pm. Please make memorial donations to First Christian Church,220 S. Webster Ave. Norman, OK.
