Ann (Grable) Wilson
January 16, 1943 ~ January 2, 2011 (age 67)

Funeral services for Mrs. Ann Wilson, age 67, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, 1212 Bedford Drive, Nichols Hills, Oklahoma with Dr. Randy L. Scraper and Reverend Bob Gregory officiating.

Ann was born January 16, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Francis L. and Helen (Marlow) Grable.  She passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Ann graduated from Midwest City High School in 1961, later enrolling at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 1965.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Donald  R. “Don” Wilson on June 10, 1965 at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

 Ann returned to college and obtained a Masters in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1975.  She taught in the Mid-Del Public School System for 30 years before her retirement on February 1, 2007.  

Ann had a passion for education and enjoyed teaching her adult students at Tinker Air Force Base how to properly use computer software.  During her education career, Ann received numerous awards and recognition for her commitment to teaching.  She was a favorite teacher to many of her students and enjoyed watching her students excel in their jobs at the base.  

Ann enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Don.  Together, they have visited Asia, Europe, South America, Thailand, Bali, Cambodia, Africa and many other destinations. They also enjoyed treating their family to the Disney Fun Parks in Florida and California.  Ann and Don were also avid sports enthusiasts, supporting Midwest City and OU athletics.  Ann also enjoyed creating Portrait DVDs for her family and friends, making absolute certain that the each picture was perfect.

 Ann loved to cook, and  more than anything, enjoyed spending time with her family laughing, loving and just being together.  She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  She will be missed but her memory will live in the hearts and minds of many forever.  

Ann was a member of the PEO sorority, and while attending OU, she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta. She served as President of the Midwest City Junior Service League and helped found the Mid-Del Public School Foundation.   She and Don have also been active members of the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church since 1992.  

Survivors include her father; Colonel Francis L. Grable of San Antonio, TX; her husband of more than 45 years, Don of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Cindy Wilson and her husband, Adam Musil of Austin, Texas; one sister, Carol Warner and her husband, Bob of Norman, Oklahoma; one grandson, Nicholas Musil of Austin, Texas; two nieces, Carrie Gardner and her husband, Randy and their three children, Cassidy, Bailey and Avery of Norfolk, Virginia; and Kristin Warner, MD of New Bern, North Carolina.  

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Grable in 1999.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Ann Wilson to the Mid-Del Public School Foundation, 7217 SE 15th, Midwest City, Oklahoma 73110.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
