Highland Village, TX - Martha Camille Sharp Williamson (Marty) of Highland Village, TX, passed away on January 30, 2022. Marty was born in Bartlesville, OK to C.E. (Gene) Sharp and Nadean Marie Barker Sharp on September 3, 1955. After graduating from Sooner High School in Bartlesville, she attended Oklahoma State University. She completed her studies at OSU with degrees in both computer science and engineering. After working as a computer programmer in Oklahoma City and Amarillo, TX, Marty moved to the Dallas area where she met and married Mark Williamson. She continued to work in the information technology field, having both technical and management positions until she retired.
Marty traveled extensively, visiting locations in Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, and the Caribbean, and sailed on many cruises. She especially enjoyed the many trips with family and friends, and tolerated the trips where it was just with her husband.
Marty volunteered throughout her life, especially after she retired. She gave her time to Lewisville Medical Center, the Salvation Army, and the Glenn Garcelon Foundation, to name a few. She was active in the church. She was a member of the Canyon Oaks garden club, sunshine committee, book club, and served on the HOA board. She was also a member of the church book club and Ladera book club.
Marty is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Nadean Sharp. She is survived by her husband, Mark Edward Williamson; her brother Michael Wayne Sharp and his wife Donna (Bacon), of Bartlesville OK; brother-in-law John R Williamson and his wife Jo Nell (Henslee); sister-in-law Jane Smee and her husband Doug; several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Thursday, February 10, 2022 at The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville, TX with Catherine Thompson officiating.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Baylor University Medical Center for their kind support and treatment throughout Marty's fight with pancreatic cancer.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
