Tina Gae Williams was the heart of our family - our encourager, our cheerleader, our example, and our joy. On December 24, 2025, she stepped into Heaven and into the arms of Jesus, her precious mother, and her daddy. While our hearts ache, we rejoice knowing she is whole, happy, and home.
Born in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Murl and Areta Johnson, Tina learned early the values of faith, kindness, and love for others. Those values shaped every part of her life. She loved learning and teaching, earning her bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University, where she served on the debate team. She later returned to college - something she absolutely loved-to earn her master's degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. On June 14, 1974, she married the love of her life, John Eddie Williams. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and farming in Altus, Oklahoma. Tina was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother. She poured herself into raising her three girls - Dedee, Brooke, and Bunny - never missing a chance to volunteer, plan, decorate, dress up, or make something special. Class parties, field trips, reading days - if there was fun to be had or a child to be encouraged, Tina was there. She especially loved dressing up and reading to classrooms, turning stories into memories that countless children still remember today. Later, as a librarian at Altus Middle School and Altus Intermediate School for 20 years, she shared her love of books, imagination, and learning with generations of students. She didn't just teach children how to read - she taught them to love it. And Tina loved to shop. Whether it was for the perfect purse, a special outfit for one of her grandchildren or something she "just happened to find," shopping was one of her great joys. She had an eye for fun, flair, and finding just the right thing - and it always came with a story!
Tina's faith was lived out daily. She taught Sunday School, GA's, and Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church of Altus, where she and Eddie were longtime members. She was always pointing young people toward Jesus through love, laughter, and example. She believed serving others was a joy, not an obligation. Her greatest pride, however, was her family. Tina adored her grandchildren - Bailey, Allie, Harper, McKenzie, Callie, Ike, Frankie, Harry, and Emaline - and delighted in every milestone, story, and moment with them. She loved deeply, laughed loudly, and found joy in the everyday moments of life.
Tina loved to have fun! Her creativity, warmth, and playful spirit filled every room she entered. Our lives are richer because of her, and her legacy of faith, love, service, and joy will live on through us all. Until we meet again, we will carry her love with us - always.
A Celebration of Tina's life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore and Pastor Scott Ketchum officiating. Local arrangements are under the care of the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory.
