Paul Wayne Williams, age 67, long-time resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026.
He was born September 6, 1958, to Hubert and Susie (Carrigan) Williams in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Paul attended school in Meeker, Oklahoma. He received numerous certifications from Gordon Cooper Vo Tech for the advancement of his career as a licensed electrician. Paul’s extensive knowledge and strong work ethic was admired by colleagues and friends. During his time with local electrical companies, Paul served as an Electrical Foreman and traveled all over the state of Oklahoma specializing in the installation and maintenance of football and baseball field lighting. Paul spent several years working at the Chesapeake Energy Arena where he developed a strong connection to the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team. Paul retired from Nortek Air Solutions in 2023.
Paul married Lisa (May) Williams on February 22, 1997, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Shawnee together for 29 years.
Paul will be remembered for his deep affinity for music. His favorite hobby was curating and expanding his extensive music library. Paul also had a wealth of knowledge of classic rock history and trivia. He loved going to concerts with friends and family, and specifically loved the music of Tom Petty, Styx, The Beatles, and Alice Cooper.
One of Paul’s favorite activities was spending time with his family on Saturday’s while watching OU football games and grilling “Paul Wayne burgers.” Paul was also known to be highly competitive about his elaborate Christmas light displays.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Hubert Paul Williams and Susie Marie (Carrigan) Williams; and sister, Janie Marie Tarr.
Paul is survived by wife, Lisa Williams; daughter/son-in-law, Crystal and Mike Brem; daughter/son-in-law, Melanie and Casey Malone; brother, David Joe Bull; brother Daryl Ray Bull; sister, Paula Sue Johnson; sister Janet Kay Spurgin; 5 grandchildren, Wesley, Hailey, Lorelei, Ryan, and Olivia; and many nieces and nephews.
An intimate funeral for Paul's family will be held, with a celebration of life gathering taking place in the near future.
