Lloyd Prescott Williams, best known to family and friends as Scott, was born in Norman on November 21, 1957, the youngest son of Lloyd P. and Louise M. Williams.
He was a lifelong city resident, attending McKinley Elementary, West Junior High, and Norman High School. During his school years he made many friends with whom he remained close for more than four decades. After high school he served our country for over 30 years as a member of the United States Air Force Reserve and as a civilian avionics specialist at Tinker Air Force Base. While Tinker was his principal worksite, his duties also often took him overseas in support of American and allied forces abroad. During his professional career he became acquainted with many remarkable airmen and civilian employees that he was proud to work with and with whom he had long, close friendships. He spoke often and proudly of all his longtime school friends and colleagues at Tinker.
While a dedicated professional at work, Scott was first and foremost a loving son, brother, and father. He so treasured his daughters, Sheena and Megan, the two most important people in his life. They were always his greatest source of pride and their many accomplishments and personal decency as young adults are his greatest legacy. In his off time Scott greatly enjoyed music, travel, and sports. He passionately followed OU athletics and was especially fond of the Sooner football and women’s softball teams. He was a longtime car enthusiast and loved all things Dodge, especially on the NASCAR circuit. A talented athlete in his own right he excelled at competitive baseball growing up and loved playing softball with friends later in life. He also enjoyed being at home, working in the yard, tinkering with his own cars, and tackling all manner of home repairs.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, his brothers David, Douglas, and Ches, and many dear relatives and close friends.
On behalf of the Williams family we thank you all for your generous outpouring of support and friendship. Your generosity will long be remembered. May peace and happiness be with you all.
