Laverne Williams

???? ~ December 9, 1996 | Age 59

MEMPHIS - Laverne Williams, 59, died Monday, December 9, 1996.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. J.E. Smith and the Rev. R.H. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Williams was born in Marshall. She attended school in Marshall until moving in 1952 to Memphis, where she attended Morningside School. She united with the new Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of L.L. Gipson. She married Garfield Williams.

Survivors include a son, Kirk Wayne Fields of Altus, Okla.; two sisters, Ester Fields of Memphis and Thelma Morris of Dallas; two brothers, Curtis Fields Jr. and Kenneth Ray Fields, both of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity.
