Jimmy S. Williams

May 24, 1955 ~ September 24, 2018

Services to celebrate the life of Jimmy S. Williams, 63, of Marietta were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29 in the Christ Tabernacle with Lawrence Anderson officiating, assisted by Larry Creasman.

Born May 24, 1955 at Gainesville, Texas, the son of Alton and Christeen Eakins Williams, he died Monday, September 24, 2018 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.

A resident of Love County most of his life, Jimmy attended school at Leon and graduated from Turner High School, Burneyville, with the class of 1973. He was employed as a driller in the oil field for a number of years and also in the maintenance department at Peterbilt. Jimmy and the former Anna Treadwell were married in Gainesville on October 12, 1973.

Jimmy loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family and friends. He also loved being a Papa to his grandchildren. Those who knew Jimmy knew he could be found sipping coffee on the front porch, spending quality time with his wife at the Lebanon Resort or riding his Razor on the riverside. He never met a stranger; therefore, he was well-known throughout the community. Jimmy loved everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was baptized in the Pentecostal faith on June 16, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Williams; brother, Louis Sampson Williams; granddaughter, Viktori Williams; best friend/brother-in-law, Charles Treadwell; and grandmother-in-law, Dovie Treadwell.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Anna Williams of the home; mother, Christeen Williams of Ardmore; three sons, B.J. Williams, Gary Williams, and Larry Williams and wife Patricia, all of Marietta; three brothers, Warren Williams and wife Linda of Rubottom and Johnny Williams and wife Sue and Frankie Williams and wife Cheryl of Healdton; two sisters, Betty Howell and husband Ricky of Ardmore and Sandy Morris and husband George of Wilson; three grandchildren, Cashlyn Williams, Clayton Rowdy Williams, and Journi Williams; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, C.E. and Gladys Treadwell of Marietta.

Serving as pallbearers were Dale Reed, Dal Gilbert, Terry Vernon, Randall Harris, Keith Castleberry, and Jason Tipton. Honorary bearers were his sons, other family members and friends.
