Joyce Marie (Golden) Williams

Feb 23, 1943 ~ April 3, 2006

Funeral services were held April 8 in Los Angeles, CA. for Joyce Marie Williams. Senior pastor William S. Epps, officiated at the services.

Ms. Williams was born Feb. 23, 1943 in Fort Worth, TX. To Ross a Golden and Helen Jean Golden and died April 3.

She attended school in northern California and relocated to southern California where she graduated from Dorsey High School at 16 years of age. She attended college while working for the Air Force as a data base secretary. Later she transferred to the US Navy department in the same capacity. During this time she was under a modeling contract with Johnson & Johnson Publishing Co. And was featured in Ebony, Jet and Sepia magazines. She was also crowned Miss Bronze California in 1962.

Ms. Williams was married to Wilson P. Williams in 1966 and to this union a daughter, Marla Joyce Williams, was born.

Survivors include her parents, Helen J. Anderson of Los Angeles, and Ross Golden of Weleetka; her daughter, Marla J. Williams; grandchildren Alexis and Norman Jr. (PJ) of Fresno, CA.; a brother Dan Golden, Fresno, CA., and Roslyn Golden, New York, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
