Catherine Jones Williams Born April 17th, 1937 in the small farming community of Blackland, Texas, to Frank and Neva Jones. Catherine passed to her heavenly reward on Thursday September 24, 2020 at the age of 83.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband Harold L. Williams of the home; Son Gary and wife Joy, Achille, Oklahoma. Daughter, Brinda and husband Kerry, Mount Pleasant, Texas. Numerous Grand and Great -Grand Children and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Catherine grew up in and around Garland TX. She started a long career as a working woman and mother as a grocery store clerk for the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Chain in the early 60’s and continued in that line of work until the late 70’s. She had many loyal customers who she remained friends with throughout her lifetime. She also worked in the maintenance department for Rockwell International until her retirement.
She loved creating ceramic pieces. She spent many long hours working to pour, fire and paint her objects of art. She bought her own kiln and enjoyed traveling to ceramic shops all over Oklahoma and Texas looking for different molds and learning about new techniques.
Catherine and Harold were long time, faithful members of the Balch Springs Grace Baptist Church. They also supported and participated in daily events at the Balch Springs Senior Citizen Center. Catherine loved to bake cakes and savory dishes to share with other seniors and friends. She enjoyed the fellowship and fun, with both her church family and senior citizen center friends.
Preceding Catherine in death were her sons, Danny, Sidney, and her daughter Nita; her brothers, Riley, Bill, James Ray and sisters, Rosie and twin sister Marie. Catherine was met by a host of friends and family as she entered the gates of Heaven.
