The services celebrating and honoring the life of Glade D. Wilkinson, 88, of Enid will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2023 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Glade was born September 7, 1934, to Jay C. and Emma Florence Gadd Wilkinson in Orem, Utah and passed from this life February 12, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Orem graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1952. He married Lois Jenkins June of 1953, from this union came six children. He worked for Geneva Steel before beginning his 50-year career in the Fur ranching business. He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Brailsford September 24, 1983 and from this union, they shared two children and he gained three step-sons. The family moved to Oregon in 1996 where he founded GDD Farms and continued his mink ranching for twenty-one more years retiring in 2017. The couple solemnized their marriage October 23, 2008, in the Portland Oregon Temple for all time and eternity. In 2017 the couple moved to Enid.
Glade loved to watch any sports related to BYU and watch his grandchildren play basketball. He loved the church and he never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Wilkinson, of the home, his children, Lynette, (Stan) Goodrich, Randy (Kaye Lynn) Wilkinson, Craig (Carrie) Wilkinson, Brent (Pam) Wilkinson, Paul (Carie) Wilkinson, Roger Wilkinson, Philip (Julie) Brailsford, Tyson (Kristina) Brailsford, Ryan (Krystal) Brailsford, Courtney Wilkinson, and Taylor (Katie) Wilkinson; 34 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren ; 8 great-great grandchildren, and two brothers, Garth Wilkinson and Jay C. Wilkinson Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jay C. and Emma Wilkinson, one sister, Beth Garlick and six brothers, Clyde, Keith, Wayne, Rulon, LaVar, and Russell Wilkinson.
