Frank Wilkins Junior was the first of seven children born to the very happy parents of Frank and Marion Wilkins on January 8, 1944.
He grew up helping to manage the family farm in the Cane Creek community, just outside Boynton, OK. He worshipped at Mount Zion Baptist Church and graduated from Boynton high school in 1961.
Shortly after graduation, he set his spirit free as he bounded onto a Greyhound bus and headed immediately to join the US Air Force where he served in Viet Nam, Europe, and the USA. During Franks military career, he managed computer operations centers in many of his assignments before retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.
He married Kathy Markstrom on December 5, 1964, and they nurtured 2 remarkable children, Suzi and Josh.
After retiring from the military, Frank and Kathy moved to Oregon and then to the family farm near Boynton, OK. He still had some more traveling to get out of his system, so he started driving trucks in routes that took him border to border and coast to coast.
Frank always exhibited the God given talent of "Servant Leadership" and positively influenced folks on three continents.
He had a love for music and dreads. His wit and wisdom were a powerful combo.
Frank left his worn out (clay suit) body here on earth on July 16, 2020.
He was preceded by both parents, and two brothers, James and Henry.
Frank leaves behind his family, Kathy, his devoted loving wife of 55 years in Eugene OR; Suzi (Dave) Wilkins, Eugene, OR; Josh (Julia) Wilkins, Germany, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Siblings John (Debera) Wilkins, Fort Worth, TX; Joyce (Turner) Goodrum, Tulsa, OK; Shirley Goodlow, Dallas,TX; Anthony and Sheri Wilkins- Tulsa, OK. And many family and friends from around the world who will greatly miss him.
Frank was a man full of wisdom that marched to the beat of a different drummer. We all appreciate your love and wisdom that you shared with us Frank. And shall try to apply it to edify God's glory!
A private family observance was held in Oregon and a public celebration of his life is planned in Boynton when conditions are supportive.
