Otto Quentin Wilhof was born January 30, 1923 to Otto Albert and Hettie Izora (Duck) Willhof at their home near Oak Hill, Kansas. He died October 16, 2013 at Salem Nursing Home, Hillsboro, Kansas.
He grew up on the family farm near Oak Hill, Kansas then the family moved to a farm near Green, Kansas and he graduated from Green High School. He served in the U.S, Army 1777th Engineering Construction Battalion from May 1, 1945 and was honorably discharged on November 24, 1946. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal.
He then returned to the family farm. He married June Evans (Erickson) on July 30, 1954 welcoming stepdaughters Claudene and Delberta. Daughter Janice was born in 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Frances Robinson and LaVaughn Hebel; brothers, Emery Willhof and Alvene Willhof and stepdaughter Delberta (Bert) Erickson.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Claudene and husband Gail Anspaugh of Elk City, Oklahoma and daughter, Jan and husband Ed Meeisinger of Huillsboro, Kansas; four granddaughters, Amy Patrick and Beth Boone of Elk City, Oklahoma, Melanie Cole, Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Ranya Monser, Riley, Kansas; and 9 great grandchildren. Services were held Satyrday, October 19, 2013 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home in Cay Center, Kansas. Burial was at the Athelstane Cemetery, Longford, Kansas.
