Rodney Dee Wilcox, 83, was born October 25, 1938, and passed away peacefully in his home April 9, 2022.

Rodney Dee Wilcox of Enid, OK passed at the age of 83 of natural causes in his home on April 9, 2022. He was born on October 25, 1938.
Rodney is survived by his three children, Douglas Wilcox, Cheryl Lucas and Brian Wilcox and wife Marlis in addition to five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brother Keith Wilcox and wife Sina and sister Marjorie Sacket and husband Richard, two adopted sisters, Colletta Wharton and husband Alan and Evyette Herman and husband Larry and two sisters-in law, Linda Foster and Leota Randleman as well as several nieces and nephews and their children.
He is predeceased by his wife Patty Ann Foster Wilcox.
Rodney grew up in the Cleo Springs, OK area and graduated from Cleo Springs High School before enlisting in the United States Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division and proudly wore the badge for the rest of his years. He married Patty Foster during his service, and he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva after his military service until his family began to grow. He spent the next several years as a salesman for Wonder Bread until he caught the flying bug. He took flying lessons and even owned his own Piper Cub for a while eventually becoming an Instructor Pilot for entry level pilots for the United Sates Air Force. He loved flying and told countless stories about his adventures for the rest of his life.
When his flying days were over, he and Patty operated a 24/7 day care center until he eventually migrated to the car business where he served in multiple capacities over the years as Parts Manager, Service Manager, Parts & Service Manager and ultimately Sales Representative.
Rodney loved the outdoors and enjoyed retelling tales of his youth on the Eagle Chief Creek. He used to recount how he grew up in a house with a dirt floor and wood stove. He learned the value of hard work at an early age and never forgot it, at times working as many as three jobs to provide for his young family.
He enjoyed many passions including fishing, hunting, boating, woodworking, photography, gunsmithing, bow making and his dogs. Family was what ultimately mattered most, and he spent a lifetime demonstrating it.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his company. At his request there will be no service and his ashes will not be formally interred.
