Mildred "Millie" Jean Wilcher

December 26, 1934 ~ November 5, 2016

Mildred Jean Wilcher, 81, left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Alliance Health Center in Ponca City. Millie, as she was known by friends and family, was born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on December 26, 1934 to James and Mary McKelvie. She met John Wilcher while he was serving in the Army in Michigan, and they married in 1954. After their marriage they moved to Ponca City, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Millie was a homemaker, and loved caring for children, providing daycare in her home for many families over the years. She retired from babysitting in 1990.

Millie is survived by her children, Debbie Goodson of Olathe, Kansas; Linda Lyons and husband Mike of Ponca City; John Wilcher, Jr. and wife Billie of Kaw City; and Kathy Miller and husband Terry of Enid; as well as grandchildren, Christopher and Nicole Goodson, Michael Lyons, Sean Lyons, Caroline Miller, Mason Miller, Angela Miller and Bridget Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wilcher; two infant daughters, Sherry Dawn Wilcher and Brenda Kay Wilcher; and infant granddaughter, Carlina Marie Goodson.
