Lydia (Scott) Wideman
April 13, 1938 ~ September 1, 2021

Lydia Wideman, 83, was born on April 13, 1938, in St. Elmo, Illinois, to Orville Neil and Irma (Ernst) Scott and passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in Ada, Oklahoma.

Lydia attended St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. Lydia served in the U.S. Navy as a nurse from February 3, 1960, until August 14, 1963. She worked at hospitals in Enid and also at the Commons. Lydia was a traveling nurse for many years, with assignments taking her to Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, California, Alaska and Montana.

She enjoyed watching all sports but especially loved watching OSU football, women's and men's basketball, and wrestling teams. Lydia also enjoyed going to the OSU Chef's Dinners. She volunteered at Hospice Circle of Love and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Lydia's motto was "I did it (my life) my way."

She is survived by her children Frank Wideman of Enid and Sarah and husband Michael Hamilton of Seattle; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Wideman, Colin Hamilton, and Ryan Hamilton; sister, Mary Kamaliazad; other relatives and friends.

Lydia is preceded in death by her parents, grandsons James Scott Wideman and Alec Michael Hamilton; sister, Leonore Gatewood.

Viewing will be Wednesday, September 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Reception will begin at 1:00 p.m. at AB Circle of Life Event Center. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to the children's library at First United Methodist Church or Hospice Circle of Love. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.
