Floyd Don Wicker

Floyd Don Wicker
October 13, 1947 - June 1, 2017

Floyd Don Wicker, 69, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Born to Clabe & Martha Mae Wicker in Pecos, TX, Floyd was one of 4 siblings. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and twin brother, Lloyd Dee Wicker. He is survived by his wife, Margenia, of the home; daughter, Erin B. LaForge and her husband, Jason; granddaughters Leah, Cady and Abigail of Edmond, OK; sisters, Martha Sue Wicker and Deborah Kay Dawson, Norman, OK; Cassondra Blubaugh of Garland, TX; and sister in law, Gayla Wicker of Mustang, OK. Floyd is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Floyd graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1966 and The University of Oklahoma, School of Architecture in 1978. He and Margenia were married on June 6, 1970 in Talihina, OK. Floyd was very proud to be a veteran. Drafted into the United States Army in 1970, he served 2 years of active duty, mostly in Germany. Upon returning to Oklahoma, he attended OU on the GI Bill and joined the ROTC. He served in the Army Federal Reserves for 18 years.

Floyd's professional career consisted of almost 50 years in the architecture industry. He owned and operated a very successful business, FDW Associates, Inc., where he designed many commercial buildings in the Oklahoma City Metro area.

Away from work, Floyd was an avid golfer and fly fisherman. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his granddaughters.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11:00am at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club in Oklahoma City, OK with reception to immediately follow.
