Bernice Marie Whittington, Services: Wed., June 29, 9:30 a.m.

Bernice Marie Whittington, a resident of Bakersfield, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005. She was 75 years old. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the Mish Funeral Home in Oildale. A graveside service will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Reverend Del Whittington of Rifle, Colorado along with Reverend Tommy Cooley of Bakersfield, California will be officiating.

Mrs. Whittington was a native of Weleeka, Oklahoma and a resident of Bakersfield for 53 years.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories; her beloved husband of 52 years, Claude W. Whittington Jr.; sister June Prince; brother Earl Staggs; loving daughter Kathren Marie Ewings of Washington; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Bernice was a kind and loving person. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and reading. She will be greatly missed.

Mish Funeral Home in Oildale is in charge of arrangements.
