Louise Potts Whittenburg was born on June 3, 1934. She was the daughter of Louis Hezekiah Potts and Christina Elizabeth (Niehoff) Potts. Louise was born and raised in Terlton, OK. She attended Terlton school, graduating with the class of 1952. After graduation, she moved to Bartlesville and worked for Phillips, returning to Terlton shortly afterward. She met and married Harvey James "Red" Whittenburg on October 10, 1953. They had four boys Harvey, Doyle, Mark, and Danny.
Louise went to work at Radar in Sand Springs in 1972, retiring in the mid-'90s. After retirement Red and Louise made several trips to Branson, MO, and Mountain View, AR, to listen to bluegrass music.
Louise loved spending time with all her kids and grandkids and would cook huge Sunday dinners, usually for 20 or more people. She spent numerous years volunteering as a pink lady through the Cleveland Hospital and working at the blood drive. She also spent countless hours at her church in Terlton, keeping the nursery, cooking, serving, and cleaning up at funerals, and doing anything else she could to help. She was well known for her chicken and noodles, which she made for years for the Terlton school carnival and the numerous Sunday dinners with her family.
Louise is survived by her children; Harvey of Mannford, OK, Doyle, and Vickie of Cleveland, OK. Mark and Donna of Mannford, OK, and Danny and Pam of Mannford, OK; 13 Grandchildren: Tabbie, Justin, Megan, Rachel, Ryker, Wayne, Wendi, Wyatt, Macy, McKenna, Lindsay, Braden, and Kourtney; 11 Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Jadyn, Charlotte, Eva, Devyn, Ethan, Emersyn, Elijah, Parker, Tanner, and Trinity; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Edyn and Hartford; one brother, Bob, and his wife, Vada of Terlton; one sister-in-law, Mary Casey; many nieces and nephews, including one special niece Sue Potts; numerous cousins and friends, including Jean Sparks, who remained her oldest and best friend since early school days in Terlton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
