Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, Ames Baptist Church under the guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.

Celebration of life services for Roy Don Whitten, 78, Ames, Oklahoma resident, will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, February 11, 2022 in the Ames Baptist Church. Services are under the kind guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Roy Don Whitten was born to the late Robert Elmer and Dorothy Marie Whitten in Shamrock Texas on July 12th 1943. He passed away on February 2, 2022 at the VA hospital in Oklahoma City.
Don was a long time resident of Ames Oklahoma. He graduated high school in Erick Oklahoma and joined the United States Navy where he was an aircraft mechanic stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk. While in the Navy he went on two far east cruises.
Don met the love of his life, Mary Gayle Grace while on their senior trips in Galveston Texas. Five years later after his service in the US Navy Don and Gayle married at the first Baptist church in Erick Oklahoma. To this union, a son, Ricky Don Whitten was born and two years later, Rebecca Gayle Whitten.
Don was very much a family man. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were his life.
Don was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Gayle Whitten, and his parents.
He is survived by his wife Gayle of Ames Oklahoma, and his son Ricky Don Whitten of Erick Oklahoma And his brother Robert Eugene Whitten of Erick Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and Great grandchildren.
