Charles Wayne Whitten

May 12, 1940 ~ October 29, 2018

Charles Wayne Whitten, 78, of Collinsville, OK, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. He was born May 12, 1940 in Wagoner, OK to Thomas Oscar Whitten and the former Mary Rebecca Bolinger. He had lived in Collinsville since having moved from Tulsa in 1986. He was a truck driver for International Paper for many years, and after retirement worked part-time as a car wash attendant in Owasso. He enjoyed playing banjo/bluegrass and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 7th at 2pm at the Skiatook Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Mitch Leonard.

He is survived by 3 children: Randy Whitten and his wife Becky of Skiatook, Lisa Scott and her husband Jeff of Owasso and Mike Whitten and his wife Christine of Layton, UT, as well as, 2 brothers: Sam Whitten and his wife Connie of Slaughterville, OK and Eddie Whitten and his wife Joy of Terlton, OK. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Cathy Whitten, 3 sisters: Bobbie Hudson, Provanah McDonald, and Pauline Whitten, and 1 brother: Jearl Whitten.
