Funeral services for Randy E. Whiting, 62, Enid resident, will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Gary Crandall officiating. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Visitation with the family present will be Wednesday evening, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stittsworth's.
Randy was born on August 9, 1956 in Winner, South Dakota, the son of Richard F. and Joan Hamling Whiting, and passed away on October 7, 2018 at his residence.
Randy was raised in Hidden Timber, South Dakota and graduated from Todd County High School in Mission, South Dakota. He was drilling water wells in California, later moving to Oklahoma where he built steel buildings. Randy married Rebecca E. Sprunger in Enid on August 2, 1981. At the time of his passing, Randy was employed as a forklift operator for Tyson Foods.
Randy is survived by his wife Rebecca; daughters, Cassy Whiting of Enid, Cristina Whiting of Enid; son, Zack and wife Valoree Whiting of Stillwater; grandchildren, Dadrian Whiting, Aubree Whiting, Brynlee Whiting, and one on the way, Carlee Whiting; brothers, Preston and wife Beth Whiting of Enid, Matt and wife Michelle Whiting of Layton, Utah; numerous nieces and nephews; Brother-in-laws, John and wife Connie Sprunger of Canton, Oklahoma, Mike and wife Sherry Fisher of Wichita Falls, Texas; Sister-in-laws, Joanne and husband DeWayne Sinclair of Canton, Oklahoma, Melody Plemons of Granite Bay, California.
Randy was preceded in passing by his parents, and one brother Rick F. Whiting.
