Mary Frances Whitfill

May 27, 1915 ~ May 15, 2013

Graveside service for Mary Frances Whitfill, 97, will be 2 p.m. today, May 18, 2013, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. Rev. Suzie Goldt will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Mary was born May 27, 1915, in Kansas City, Mo., to William Edward and Mary Etta (Paradise) Major and passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at The Commons in Enid, Okla.

She grew up in Kansas City, Mo., graduating from Central High School in 1932. She married her high school sweetheart, Elton Whitfill, on June 8, 1935, and celebrated 72 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.

She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson. She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed hospital volunteer work. She was a member of Countryside Christian Church in Shawnee Mission, Kan.

She moved to Enid in 2006. She is survived by sons, Scott Whitfill and wife Carol and Steven Whitfill and wife Debbie; one daughter, Joyce Caven and husband J.D.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
