Alvis O. "Whit" Whitfield, 89, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Franklin Street Church of Christ with Laurencio Garduno and Kurt Jones officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.
Mr. Whitfield married Margaret Alice Fox on May 25, 1942, in Clayton, N.M. He served on the Lake Meredith Water Authority for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Thomas Whitfield of Murphy; a daughter, Karen Ann Stephenson of Borger; a brother, John Edward Whitfield of Amarillo; two sisters, Alberta Vinson of Amarillo and Dorothy Ann Livesey of Canute, Okla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
