Rhonald Alven Whiteneck, MD

Nov. 2, 1917 ~ 2005

Woodward, OK. -- A memorial service for Rhonald Alven Whiteneck, MD, 87, will be Oct. 15 at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, OK. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.

He was born Nov. 2, 1917, near Aline, OK. to John Samuel and Cara Lee Beard Whiteneck. He married Frances Jean Adams Nov. 27, 1941. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1947 in New York before opening a medical practice in Waynoka, OK. They moved to Woodward in 1957 where he practiced medicine until he retired in 1987. They moved to Norman, OK. in 1992. He was active in church, civic and professional organizations.

He is survived by three sons, Rhonald Whiteneck II of Woodward, OK., Dr. James Whiteneck of Tulsa, OK., and Dr. Bob Whiteneck of Enid, OK.; a daughter, Dr. Susan Whiteneck of Norman, OK.; a brother, Elden of Sarcoxie, MO.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
