Sybil Marie Whitehead
May 4, 1937 ~ February 1, 2020

Sybil Marie Whitehead was born on May 4, 1937 to Kenneth and Myrtle Whitehead at Jefferson, Oklahoma, the youngest of four children. She first attended a little country school, District 77, and was a member of the Lamont Order of the Rainbows. She attended high school at Lamont, where she excelled in Home Economics and played the flute in band. In 1955, her Senior year, she was elected to be the FFA Sweetheart. She attended Oklahoma State University for one year, before leaving higher education to marry her high school sweetheart, Glenn Webster in 1956. Together they had three children, Randy, Sue and Ned.

The couple started married life on the farm 5 miles north of Lamont, where they raised sheep. A few years later they built and operated a dairy. Sybil took an active role in the dairy. She was a bottle calf feeding expert. It was the norm for her to get up at 5:30 every morning to help milk cows, then come to the house to fix breakfast. She was a great cook, preparing many meals for her family and friends. She also delivered many meals to the field in the summer when necessary. The couple lived in their first home for 32 years before building a new house 3 miles away, where they resided for 30 years.

Sybil's hobbies included quilting, gardening, reading and many types of crafts. She loved to go to quilt workshops with her sister Betty Prilliman. She created many lovely quilts of all sizes. She gave away many quilts as gifts, for births, birthdays, weddings and other occasions. She had a green thumb as well, and grew beautiful flowers and usually a summer garden. She also loved children and spent many hours preparing lessons and teaching children's Sunday School classes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Milo Whitehead and Dale Whitehead and her sister Betty Prilliman.

She is survived by her husband Glen Webster; children Randy Webster and wife Phyllis of Ballwin, MO, Sue McMillen and husband Rick of Tonkawa, and Ned Webster of Lamont; six grandchildren, Megan Cartlidge (husband Jared) of Ponca City, Malia Collins, (husband Wilford) of Nardin, OK, Justin Webster (wife Melanie) of Arnold, MO, Nathan McMillen, Rachel McMillen, and Nicolette Webster; six great- grandchildren: Ava, Clara and Wade Cartlidge, and Addie, Allen and Eliza Collins, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Her faith was a very important part of her life. In lieu of a memorial gift the family request you give a donation to the church of our choice.

There will be a visitation 5-7 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the First Christian Church of Lamont, OK. Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at First Christian Church, Lamont, OK.
