Linda Rae White, 72, of Bartlesville, died Sunday in Dewey. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and a child of God now rejoicing and worshipping in heaven forevermore.
Linda was born the daughter of Henry Obed and Dorothy Helen (Malde) Scott on January 20, 1950, in Mitchell, South Dakota. From a young age Linda loved singing. She enjoyed being part of the choir and playing the French horn in band. She was raised and educated graduating from Mitchell High School in 1968.
Linda was living and working in Colorado Springs when she met Donald White who was stationed at Ent Air Force Base. They quickly fell in love and married on July 31, 1971. Soon after getting married they moved to Joplin, MO, for a year before settling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Linda was a wonderful and loving mother who stayed home with their boys Kent and Ben when they were little. Once they started school she worked as a respiratory therapist and later as a pharmacy tech, helping people every day.
What was she like? Linda was an encourager, she was loving and kind, an excellent listener, and most of all was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. Her actions represented her desire to be Christ-like and show the world His amazing love. She was a prayer warrior. She loved spending time with God reading the Bible and praying. Linda was active in various ministries including the choir, a quartet named “The Uncalled Four”, worship team, and Bible studies at her home church Linwood Wesleyan Church in Sioux Falls.
Linda and Donald, the man God blessed her with, enjoyed spending time together and watching their kids and grandkids grow up. The couple enjoyed walks, hiking, and attending the boys’ activities when they were young. They also loved dinners out with friends, playing cards and Bible fellowship groups. Reading, singing and coffee with friends took up her free time. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and singing His praises!
Linda is survived by her husband of 51 years Donald; two sons Kent (Holly) White and Ben White; siblings Jean (John) Beck and Jerry (Candice) Scott; and grandchildren, Kylie, Drew, Trey and Kori. She is preceded in death by her parents.
