John Whittington White

May 3, 1982 ~ June 30, 2020

On June 30, 2020, John Whittington White, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 38.

John was born on May 3, 1982 in Oklahoma City, OK to William and Mary Kay White. As a young adult, John enjoyed his years as an Eagle Scout.

In Sept. 2001, John joined the US Army Reserves. In 2004, he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 and bravely served in Afghanistan Operation Enduring Freedom in 2012-2013. In Sept. 2008, he earned his E5-Sgt ranking in the Army Reserves. In Sept. 2013, he earned his E6-SSG. In 2017, he served overseas in Ukraine and in Sept. 2018, John became full time Oklahoma National Guard and served as a property Book Clerk.

Through hard work, dedication and long study, he received his Master’s Degree in Humanities from Anglo American University in Prague CZ Republic in Sept. 2012. While in Prague, he also became a tour guide.

Remarkably, he has traveled to over 40 countries and 5 continents.

John’s greatest passion however was through his natural ability and gift of writing. He loved to write on topics of travel, philosophy, poetry and creative non-fiction. He will be remembered for his curious nature and compassionate spirit.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. John and Ruth Gamby and MAJ William B. White IV and Frances M. White.

He is survived by his wife Heather and their two daughters Vivienne Ruth White and Laila Maree White; parents William White V and Mary Kay Gamby White; his sister Susan White Sisson and her husband James and their two daughters Caroline Marie and Amelia Catherine Sisson; his brother VI White as well as many other family members and friends.
