Joy Faye (Scrivener) White

September 24, 1957 ~ July 23, 2018

Joy White of Burneyville went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family and friends, on July 23, 2018 at Mercy Health Love County Hospital in Marietta.

She was born September 24, 1957 in Oklahoma City the daughter of Charlie and Irene Scrivener. As a teenager, her family moved to Overbrook and then on to Marietta, where she graduated from high school in 1976. Later that year she married the love of her life, Michael White of Burneyville. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend to all she met.

Joy attended the Lord’s Church in Ardmore, where she loved working in the nursery. She especially loved the time she spent with her family. Anybody who ever met her knew she was a caring, loving and courageous individual.

She was preceded in death by both parents.

Joy is survived by her husband Michael; two sons, Nicolas and Nathan; sister, Minnie and husband Jeff Carr of Muskogee; sister, Linda Gough of Ardmore; brother, John and wife Carrie Scrivener of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; brother, Clay Scrivener of Marietta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving guests at Euna Jane White’s residence (12042 Jimtown Road, Burneyville) on Friday, July 27, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28, at Burneyville Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the American Cancer Society, or any cancer research group, in honor of Joy.
