Billy Eugene "Gene" White

December 18, 1940 ~ May 1, 1995

Billy Eugene "Gene" White passed away Monday, May 1, 1995 at the St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center in Amarillo, Texas.

Services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 1995 at the Wheeler Church of Christ with Bill Morrison, minister and Glen Walton of Amarillo officiating.

Burial was in Mobeetie Cemetery, Mobeetie, Texas.

Mr. White was born on December 18, 1940 at Shattuck, Oklahoma to William P. and Viola Lietner White.

He was raised at Cheyenne, Oklahoma and graduated from Crawford High School at Crawford, Oklahoma.

Mr. White married Mary Hartley on November 23, 1960 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

They moved to Mobeetie in 1975.

He has served on the Mobeetie School Board of Trustees for several years.

He enjoyed participating in team roping events around the area.

He was a farmer and rancher as well as a member of the Wheeler Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Mobeetie; son and daughter-in-law, Caroll and Debbie White of Mobeetie; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jerry Dyson of Pampa, Texas; mother, Viola White of Wheeler; two brothers, Virgil White of Berlin, Oklahoma; and Curtis White of Lefors, Texas; three grandchildren, Dusty White, Clay White and Libby Dyson; and mother-in-law, Mary Hartley of Reydon, Oklahoma.
