Mary Dale Allen Wherritt
December 14, 1938 ~ March 9, 2013

Mary Dale Allen Wherritt, daughter of Melvin Ross Allen and Mary Rose Lingenfelter Allen, was born on December 14, 1938 at Trail, Dewey County, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on March 9, 2013 at the age of 74.

Mary grew up in Camargo, OK attending school through tenth grade. She then moved to Duke, OK where she graduated high school. After graduation, Mary moved to Wichita Falls, TX to attend Draughan Business College to obtain her Associates Degree in Business. After college she moved back to Camargo, OK.

Mary was united in marriage to Harvey Allen Wherritt on November 27, 1959 in Leedey, OK. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Kelly Jean and Alicia Michelle (Mickey). Early in their marriage the couple moved quite often due to Harvey’s work. The couple lived in San Antonio, TX, Ft. Bragg, NC, Trail, OK, Liberal, KS, Houston, TX, Midwest City, OK Ft. Worth, TX and Joshua, TX before moving to their current home in Yukon, OK in 1977.

Mary’s primary focus in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. However, during her life she worked installing zippers, helped her mother at the caf�, worked as a Clinical Director and ran her own company with her husband Harvey. Mary enjoyed crocheting, reading and was an avid bowler.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Mary Allen, great granddaughter Brianna Marie Schultz and sister-in-law Kathryn Edwards. She is survived by her husband Harvey of the home, daughter Kelly Wherritt of the home, daughter Mickey Wherritt of Yukon, OK, granddaughter Cassie Wherritt of Yukon, OK, great granddaughter Zoey Aliza Nicole of Yukon, OK who was born during Mary’s hospital stay, two sisters, Pat Lamborn and husband Arnie of Abilene, KS, Janet Clark and husband Mike of Kingfisher, OK, brother Bill Allen and wife Sharon of Carrollton, TX, brother-in-law John Edwards of El Reno, OK several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

Memorials may be made through Shaw Funeral Home to Trail Cemetery Care Fund
