William Eugene Wheeler

Oct. 31, 1946 ~ Aug. 14, 2005

Funeral services for William Eugene Wheeler, 58, of Lexington will be held today (Thursday), Aug. 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel with Dexter Blevins officiating. Services will be under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Mr. Wheeler died Aug. 14, 2005 at his home north of Lexington.

He was born Oct. 31, 1946 in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Howard and Vivian (Lamunyon) Wheeler. He was reared in Enid before moving to Norman, graduating from Norman High School in 1965. He attended the University of Oklahoma. He had lived in the Noble area for the past 36 years, coming from Norman.

On July 21, 2001 he married Dawn Rush in Lexington.

Mr. Wheeler was an accountant, self-employed as a H&R Block franchise owner in Noble for the past 25 years and worked for Capitol Oil and the FAA recreational center.

He was of the Southern Baptist faith, was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the S.C.C.D.D.D.C. and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Wheeler.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn, of the home; two sons, Jeff Wheeler and his wife, Traca, of Blanchard and Dustin Rush and Serenity of Noble; two daughters, Donna Burton and her husband, Clay, of Norman and Shawna Rush of the home; two brothers, Stanley Wheeler and his wife, Lynne, of Canton, Ga., and Danny Wheeler and his wife, Kim, of Mustang and six grandchildren.
